Avegant and Cellid Collaborate to Develop Reference Design for AI-Enabled Smart Glasses

Cellid to Demonstrate Light Weight Plastic Waveguide at CES2025 in Las Vegas on Jan 7 -10 

SAN MATEO, CA., December 18, 2024 – Avegant Corp., a developer of next generation light engine for AR experiences, is partnering with Cellid Inc., a developer of AR glasses displays and spatial recognition engines for next-generation devices, to deliver an AI smart glasses reference design for customers.

The new partnership will pair Avegant’s light engine with Cellid plastic waveguides

The reference design features Avegant’s compact LCoS AG-30L2 30-degree light engine integrated with Cellid’s 30FOV full-color plastic waveguides. Together, Cellid and Avegant will be creating a light-weight, full-color, AR display module that is intended to be used as an optical reference design for AI-enabled consumer smart glasses. This solution will be highly efficient, full color, mass manufacturable, and lightweight.

The first prototypes of this collaboration will be showcased at CES 2025 in Las Vegas on Jan 7 to 10. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the solution’s cutting-edge optical performance firsthand at the Cellid booth.
